Let's Get Political: The EU Referendum From A 19 Year Olds Perspective (Day 149)

Now because I'm very behind on posts this is going to seem very out of order but I felt it was a post I really needed to write and put up tonight.

The EU referendum has been described as a historic decision, something that we will only be given once in our life time. If you live in the UK, there is no doubt you've heard the arguments of how leaving the EU would be a leap into the unknown but how staying in will leave the country with a diminished ability to create laws and stand independently. Now for me, my vote is my vote a and to be honest I really don't want to discuss the politics in this post. I will say though that I can see the pros and cons of both sides. I'm more concerened about what this means for me.

It's strange to think that by the time I wake up tomorrow morning, either way, my life will drastically change. In or out, changes will be implemented which are going to impact me. At 19 years old, I'm going to be a part of the generation that feels the immediate effects of this vote. This will effect all the big plans, hopes and dreams I have for my life in the next 5 to 10 years. This vote could alter my tuition fees and the quality of my teaching. It could completely destroy my graduate job prospects or it could make the great. It will influence how easy it will be for me to get a mortgage or a loan and it will affect my ability to travel throughout Europe. That's a lot of my life that hinges on one cross in a box. 

It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't from a generation that has already faced it's fair share of struggles. We've seen the recession hit our families and experienced the lack of jobs. We pay  the most any UK citizen has ever paid just to get a higher education because without it our job prospects are ridiculously slim. My generation won't move out of their parents until they're 30 because they simply can't afford it and the chances are we will be working until we reach our graves because there will be no pensions left for us. However, it's more than the finical hardships. I'm from a generation where passing the exam is more important than the love of the subject, where junk food costs more than healthy food and where people who don't work get paid more than the people who do. Let's face it, it's pretty screwed up.

So yes, tomorrow morning, either way, my life will be different. The course I'm on will drastically shift and life is going to be pretty chaotic. However at 19 years old, my life has already be changed and altered for the worst by the decisions of those in charge. The future terrifies me but do you know what, that's okay. Despite the outcome tomorrow, my generation, the people who will be the most effected by this decision, will cope. We will hold our heads high and we will struggle through life, just as we have always done.

Disney Flip- Flops (Day 148)

No holiday packing list would be complete without some Disney flip- flops.

Over the years, Primark have introduced some really cute character flip- flops but this year's range is definitely the best. They are so cute that I have ended up with two pairs. Well for £2.50 each, I really couldn't say no.

The first pair I bought were these Little Mermaid ones. The Little Mermaid is up there with my favourite Disney films so I was very excited to find these. They have the quote 'Mermaids Have More Fun' on them. The quote is accompanied by a print of Ariel combing her hair in a sea of flowers. They are a dark, navy blue colour with a gold, foil print strap. They are so cute.

The second pair I have got is these Jungle Book ones. They are white with a white sparkly strap and Jungle leaves printed all over them. The right flip flop has Mowgli and Baloo on it whereas the left has Hathi Jr, Shere Khan and Kaa on it. They are so bright and colourful. They are going to be great for around the pool.

I do love Primark for Disney things.

Cupshe Review (Day 147)

I gave into temptation and lived life on the edge.

I ordered from a website based in China! I know, my life isn't that adventurous but I feel like this was a big thing for me. I'm always sceptical of retailers that I am not familiar with and those that are not based in this country. I'm always scared that buying from retailers not based here may lead to problems with sizing or returns etc. Therefore when I ordered from a website called Cupshe I was incredibly sceptical. As I was unsure I didn't order as much as I wanted to but now I really wish I did. I ordered three items and received them all within 2 weeks of placing the order. The items are all excellent quality and fit pretty well. I'm seriously very impressed. 

The first thing I ordered was the Cupshe Dream State Tropical Tank Bikini Set for £13.08. I really love it. The bottoms are high waisted which was what I was looking for and the top is a lot more conservative than a lot of bikini tops which I really like. I think the colours and patterns on this are so fun and the zip on the top is the perfect little accent. I will say that the cups in the bikini top feel very loose and are definitely not fixed into place, however it is definitely not a massive problem, it might just take a little adjusting!

The second item I ordered was again a piece of swimwear. This time I ordered the Cupshe W&B Floral Rose Halter Bikini which was again priced at £13.08. This one was completely out of my comfort zone but I absolutely loved the monochrome look. It has a halter neck and a tie around the back to keep the top up. It again has padding in the top which, like the first one, is a little loose but is fine. I do worry about the top not quite being big enough around my breasts. It does fit and cover them but I feel like I could pop out at any minute. I'm just going to have to be careful in it.

The final thing I ordered was the Cupshe Light as a Feather Leaves Matching Set, which was again £13.08. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I didn't think it would be my favourite but it definitely was. It is a beautiful, almost silky material that is so light and hangs beautifully. I absolutely love the pattern and the fit. The shorts are a little big but are nothing to worry about. I wore this the other day and got so many compliments. I just know I will wear this until it's death.

I think Cupshe may be my new obsession.

Father's Day Gift Ideas (Day 146)

Father's day is quickly approaching and my Dad is super difficult to get anything for!

My Dad doesn't like sport, doesn't eat chocolate and has very few hobbies and interests so buying him something is a serious struggle. I eventually settled on a cookbook for my Dad as he does enjoy cooking. My Dad loves the Hairy Bikers! Now if you don't know who they are, they are basically two northerners with beards who can cook and ride motorbikes (I know right, British Television). Now I had no idea how many books they have released until I looked on amazon. I settled on the Asian Adventure Book and I'm really hoping my Dad will love it.

Happy Fathers Day Dad, I love you!

Disney Lover Gift Idea (Day 145)

It was my Mum's birthday recently and the thing she asked for was and apron. AN APRON! Of course my Mum would want the most practical birthday present, so I thought I would try and make it fun.

That's when I found this apron on amazon. That's right it's a Mickey Mouse apron. It is honestly the cutest thing ever. It's Mickey Mouse's body in his vintage outfit and the idea is that the wearers head kind of acts as Mickey's head. The apron is amazing quality and fits my Mum really well. Even the packaging is cute. It's so vintage and lovely, my Mum has already said she is keeping the tube. For only £10 on amazon, this makes the perfect present for any Disney lover that loves to spend time in the kitchen.

Urban Decay 'Time' Colours (Day 144)

The final collection of colours that are in the Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette are the 'Time' collection. 'Time' are perhaps the best colours for a night out. They would be great for creating the perfect party colours.

The first colour is 'Time'. 'Time' is a charcoal grey colour that has a slight shimmer to it. It is a very dark colour that will make for a great smokey eye. The next colour is perhaps my favourite in the entire palette. It is 'Dream on' which is a very shimmery silver colour. I can't even tell you all how much glitter is in this colour, the picture does not do it justice. It is honestly the most amazing colour. 'Chronosphere' is a shimmery brown. It almost has a bronzey, gold under tone to it. It is the most neutral of the 'Time' colours and definitely the most wearable. The final colour is 'Mirror' which is a grey colour. It is slightly shimmery and is definitely something that is wearable. It is again, the perfect colour for a smokey eye.

Urban Decay 'Iracebeth' Colours (Day 143)

The Iracebeth colours are some of the most vibrant in the palette. Although not quite at the level of the Mad Hatter colours, they are very colourful and are going to be some of the hardest to wear.

The first colour for this character is 'Heads Will Roll'. 'Heads Will Roll' is a turquoise/ teal kind of color that has a slight shimmer. This colour scares me a little as blue is always a very difficult colour to wear so this is going to take some practice before I get it right. 'Bandersnatch' is a matte petrol blue colour that is quite dark. I feel like this with the 'Heads Will Roll' colour would make for a really unique look. Next is 'Salazen Grum'. This colour is an almost red, shimmery colour that is definitely one of the most natural of the 'Iracebeth' colours. Finally, 'Royal Flush' is the most perfect shimmery nudish white colour. This is alot like 'Lily' from the 'Mirana' colours but is much more shimmery.
