My Summer Staple (Day 160)

'Give a girl the right pairs of shoes and she can conquer the world'.

I live and die in boots! I absolutely love wearing boots as I feel like I can wear them with everything. However it's hot here in Britain and there is no way I would ever survive in boots. Although I've been wearing sandals alot, I've decided to give my pumps a go.

I got these loafer type shoes a while ago from a shop called Select and I'm absolutely loving them. They are a kind of faux suede with tassels on the front. I love the style as they are easy to pair with anything. I've been wearing them everyday with jeans as well as dresses and skirts. I find they look really cute and go with everything.

I'm really loving them!

Childhood Memories (Day 159)

Growing up I played a lot of the Sims 2.

The Sims 2 was my absolute favourite game. I used to go to my next door neighbours and we used to play the game all day and all night. We would have hours of fun designing houses, making families and finding ways to get more money.

I know the Sims 4 has been out for quite a while now but I got it for christmas and have been waiting to play it since then. I wanted to wait until after my exams so I didn't get too addicted to it. Now it has not taken over my life but I am definitely loving it. I like that I can go back to my childhood in a much more modernised way.

Rimmel In Shower Self Tan Review (Day 158)

Now I'm not normally one to complain but here goes.

My Mum bought this self tan when out shopping and about a week before my holiday I decided to give it a go. The instructions were simple enough; Apply whilst in the shower, rinse off and pat dry with a towel. Now I should of definitely known that this was already a recipe for disaster but turns out I'm more naive than I first thought.

The problems began during application really. Before I went to bed I went for a shower and decided to try it out. I was very careful to try and get every single patch of skin but the tanner does not leave any colour so it is very tricky to ensure an even coverage. I did exactly what it said and rinsed it off and patted dry with a towel. Now the next morning I woke up and was really pleased to see that my arms were a really nice tan colour, not too dark or too light but just right for me. I was really happy. I did notice a little bit of patchiness around my elbows but nothing too noticeable so I was fine with it. I went about my morning and got my breakfast and all was great, until I got changed for the day. As I took my pyjama top off I could tell I was in trouble. I was so, so patchy! I literally looked like I had some sort of skin problem. All the tanner had gathered in any dips in my body so my collar bone, belly button and under my breasts were orange whilst the rest of my skin was patchy.

Now it was only at this point that I decided to read the reviews of this product (only because I wanted to see how long I would have to look like a bad Oompa Loompa for) and I found that I was not the only one. Apparently this is a really common problem with this tan and it was not just that I could not apply it correctly. I guess on the brightside, this tan lasts! It lasted for well over a week with continuous scrubbing.

I will never go for a tanning product like this again!

Summer Holiday Vibes! (Day 157)

I've just got back from a family holiday to Isla Canela in Spain.

I had an absolutely amazing time. It was so nice to be able to escape everyday life and just relax. I felt all my stresses melt away and for just a week I felt free and at peace. Isla Canela is on the Southern Coast of Spain and I think it is definitely an up and coming tourist destination. There were so many hotels and so much still being built. I loved that all the hotels had a really Moroccan influence. They were really beautiful.

The best thing was being able to just escape. To be able to just lie in the sun and my only concern be when I was going to go for a dip in the pool. It was nice and I truly feel like I needed the break and the relaxation. It was also nice to spend the week with the fam. It's hard with our schedules to ever get time together so I was truly grateful for the time we got to spend together.

Family time and new adventures are what I live for.

Sorry! (Day 156)

I'm sorry!

I seriously feel like a failure. I haven't got posts up for so long and I am really behind now I feel a bit lost. Life has just been busy. My summer has already been jam packed. I spent a week in Spain and I have also been working 2 jobs so it is rare I have any time to myself.

You can. But will you? If you weren't happy with yesterday, try something different today. #Inspiration #ConceptCE:

My promise is that I am going to try harder, I am going to catch up  but I am also not going to be too hard on myself. Life gets busy and everyone screws up sometimes. You've just got to try again.

So I am still here and I am trying!

Sleek 'Precious Metals' Highlighter Palette (Day 155)

I've been super into highlighting over the summer months.

I popped into Superdrug the other day and found this handy little kit by Sleek for £9.99. It has four highlighters, three cream and one powder. All of the colours live up to the palette name: 'Precious Metals' as all the colours are so iridescent are pretty.

The palette contains four different colours. The first 'Platinum' is a very, very white highlighter. It's definitely not one that I use on my cheekbones as I find it is way too much and makes me look even more washed out (if that is even possible). However, I have found a way to make this work for me. I've found it works perfectly in the corners of my eyes to make me look more awake. I've also been using this under my eyebrows to really highlight the arch and make them the focal point of my look. The second colour in the palette is 'Royal Gold'. It is a light bronze colour that is perfect for either highlighting or contouring. I've been using it for both and found it works, depending on how defined you want your look to be. The third colour is 'Renaissance Gold'. This is a more peachy than gold but is perfect for the apples of the cheeks and the tops of the cheekbones. The final colour is 'Antique Bronze'. This is the only powder based colour in the palette and is also the darkest of them all. I've been using this colour for contouring more than highlighting as I've found it is just the right amount of colour for me to use. It also has a slight shimmer to it, which makes it perfect for the summer months as it gives my skin a bit of an extra glow.

The colours are all lovely but they do take some time to build up. However this makes it really easy to achieve my desired colour. They are also very blendable which is great for when I make a mistake. I can just take a powder brush and blend the colours out. Simple! All in all, this palette is great for under £10 and is very versatile. I like that if I'm travelling, I can just throw this in my makeup bag and have countless possibilities.

The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry Review (Day 154)

A good book is a must when I'm on holiday.

I find that I have tonnes of time to read when I'm on holiday so I like to have a book with me. I picked up the Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce a while ago from amazon and I really didn't know a lot about it. I was not really expecting a lot from it but I loved it.

The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry is the story of a retired man called Harold who lives with his wife Maureen. They live an ordinary boring life until one day Harold gets a letter from a dying old friend, Queenie Hennessy he decides to write her a letter. On his way to the post box, he decides that he needs to deliver the letter in person so he just keeps walking, even though Queenie lives at the other end of the country.

I love that this book is so simple, yet poignant. There is no fancy language or complicated, long winded sentences, it is succinct and to the point. The words perfectly echo how Harold would have been thinking and feeling. His hope, naivety and his loyalty to his yachting shoes make this book so realistic and relevant. The book made me smile the whole way through. It is so honest and literal. I was just willing Harold to keep walking and for Queenie Hennessy to keep living. Despite the ending of this book being a real tear- jerker (and not for the reasons you might expect), it really is a story of hope and healing.

I am honestly in love with the Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.

(Sidenote- Apparently spelling pilgrimage is something I just can't do, even by the end of this post! Please forgive me if there are any mistakes.)

Footprints in the Sand (Day 153)

There is nothing more beautiful than the beach.

The beach is like my happy place, I feel free and content just looking at the vast ocean. It seems infinite and full of hope and promise. Each new wave brings a new start and each tide washes away my problems. I could watch the sea for hours. I guess growing up literally in the centre of England and being pretty much as far away from the beach as it is possible to be, the beach is always new and exciting. Recently, me and my family got back from a holiday in Isla Canela, Spain and my love for time at the beach was ignited once more. There is nothing like feeling the sea air and the warm sand. I have never felt so content!

One day I might run away to the beach and never come back!

The Perfect Slogan Tee (Day 152)

I love a good pun!

So when I spotted this in Primark the other day, I let out a little squeal in excitement.

The pocket of the T-shirt has two toucans popping out of it and the slogan above reads 'Toucan play at this game'. The colour is also perfect for summer. The coral pink is an amazing colour. It is definitely a colour I do not normally wear but I am honestly loving. Since I bought it, I haven't stopped wearing it. The T- Shirt is the perfect length as it is not cropped but is not really long like a typical T- shirt. It sits sort of mid- hip which is really flattering. This looks amazing with jeans on a casual day and will look perfect with some shorts on holiday. The best thing is, this T- Shirt was labelled at £6, which is a bargain anyway but when it went through the till it came up at £3. Primark win!

I do love a bargain.

Summer Essentials (Day 151)

Summer is upon us and I am more than ready for it.

Summer requires some serious preparation though. It almost needs its own kit and products just to allow you to survive it. The summer essentials are necessary for getting through (hopefully) the hotter months, so these are mine...

My first summer essential is SUN CREAM! This for me is paramount for surviving the summer months. Although I love the sun, my pale, marshmallow white skin really doesn't. I burn when I just see a glimmer of the summer sun so strong, total block  sunscreen is the only way for me not to come out looking like a lobster.

My second summer essential is flip- flops. I love flip- flops for the summer months as they are easy to just throw on. I love wearing flip- flops for not only lounging around the pool or at the beach but for just throwing on to pop to the shops or for a barbecue in the garden. They are comfortable and weather appropriate and you can pick up a killer pair for next to nothing in Primark.

My next summer essential is a bright lipstick. I love to wear a pop of colour on the lips as it really makes me feel summery and happier. I feel like it really allows my look to move with the season and it a really easy way to make your look look much brighter and more colourful. This is one of my current favourites from Rimmel. It's one of the 'Colour Rush' lip crayons in shade 210- Boom Chic A Boom.

My final essential to get you through the summer months is a beach bag. Beach bags are the perfect way to look bright and colourful as well as being super practical. What better way to carry your beach towel and products to the beach than in a brightly coloured bag. I got mine from amazon for £12.99 and I love it.

With this, I am totally ready for summer!

Organising my Wardrobe (Day 150)

The key to a tidy mind really is a tiny wardrobe.

There is nothing more satisfying than having everything in order, especially when everything has been kind of a mess. I like to have everything a certain way and I normally start by taking everything out. I pull it all out and put it on my bed and then sort everything out.

Everything in my wardrobe is hung in sections such as tops, jeans, shorts etc so it is easy for me to put and outfit together in the mornings.I then have my shoes all put away nicely on my shoe rack as well as boxes that contains all my winter clothes and accessories. I've then put all my bags inside one another to save space and make everything look tidy.

I do love a spring clean.
