Going Away Present Idea- Part 2 (Day 166)

This post continues on from yesterday's post, read that here.

Now the next thing I got to put in the basket is definitely something that means a lot to me and my friend. Whenever we have problems or stresses our go to solution is to go and get a hot chocolate and talk it out. Therefore I decided to get her a little hot chocolate care kit. I picked up the fox mug from Asda for about £3 and then got some little sachets of hot chocolate and some marshmallows to put with it. I've packaged it up in a box and added the label 'because this solves everything'. Even if I can't be there in person to get hot chocolate and chat hopefully hot chocolate and skype will be the next best thing.

The next thing I purchased is a little bit more practical. These are the Bic 'fun' biros and I swear by them. The pack includes pink, purple, blue and green biros and I love all of them. I enjoy being able to colour coordinate my notes and  have certain bits stand out. I always get a new pack of these for the new term so I thought I would get some for my friend too.

Now the final thing, I am featuring in today's post was actually featured the other day in a different post (which you can read here). I got this little pencil case from Typo and it is really handy for keeping all the essentials together. I just thought this would be something that would be super handy for her to have,

Going Away Present Idea! (Day 165)

This year, one of my best friends is moving away to uni. After taking a year out, she is off to pursue her dreams and I couldn't be prouder. I needed to see her off with the perfect going away present.

I decided to make her a basket of essentials to take with her to her new halls of residence. Firstly, I bought this storage basket from Homebase for around £4. I love the colour scheme with the grey and white stripes and the handles on the side mean it will be really handy for her to use as an easy access storage box.

So one of the first things I got to go in the basket was this revision planner from a company called Sighh. It is so cute. It has the days of the week across the top and times down the side with boxes for each day and what you need to revise. I love the look and finish of this and how it has little comments on. I believe there are around 50 sheets on the pad so it should definitely last her all year. I wrapped all of the presents and added a little 'because' note on the top to say why I got it. For this one I have put 'because even revision should look cute'.

The next thing in the basket was another stationary item. This is a notebook that actually featured in a blog post the other day (you can read that here). It is from a company called Typo and the front cover reads 'running late is my cardio'. This is perfect as my friend is late for everything. On the label I simply wrote 'because it is so appropriate'.

I then wanted to put something a little bit more fun in the basket and a bit less practical. I bought this from a local card shop for about £2 so the quality is  not amazing. However I think it is the perfect little reminder that she can use on those down days. It is just a simple little gold star necklace which is on a piece of card which says 'Sparkle like the star you are'. I wrapped this and added a label which says 'because you might need a reminder'.

So there are the first three gift ideas. I will put more in my next post.

Typo Review Part 2 (Day 164)

This post follows on from the one posted yesterday (read it here).

So it turns out Typo have more than super pretty notebooks and I could not resist buying a few other bits and pieces.

In terms of stationary, I got this pencil case. Now I got this for my friend who is starting university this year after taking a year out as I thought it will be super useful for her to put all her bits and pieces in. It is a flat pencil case with 3 sections. All of the zips are rose gold and each section is a different colour and texture. This pencil case was reduced from £7 to £3.49 so it was a bit of a bargain.

The final piece of stationery I purchased was this to- do list. It is a peach colour with gold writing which says s*** to do. It has columns for the date, what needs to be done and a column to pop a tick in when it is done. I'm always writing to- do lists so I thought this would be great for keeping me organised this academic year. It was £4 which is a great price if it manages to keep me productive.

I then ordered two travel items that I found on the website. The first is perhaps my favourite thing about the entire order. It is a pink and cream pouch which has three sections, the top one is labelled 'Identification, Passport, Tickets, Notebook, Itinerary', the second section is labelled 'Cash, Cards, Attractive strangers phone numbers' and the third section is labelled 'Coins, Keys, USB Cords, Chewing Gum, Receipts'. It then has a section to write your phone number in case you loose it. It is also edged with pom poms which looks so cute. I love that it will allow me to keep everything together whilst I am travelling. For £8, I am definitely going to get my moneys worth.

The final thing I ordered was really only to make the cost of my order up so that I could get free delivery. I got this canvas luggage tag which is baby pink with white triangles printed on. I've needed a new luggage tag for a while so when I saw this one for £1.99 and had to get it.

I have a new love for Typo.

The Prettiest Stationery Haul/ Typo Review (Day 163)

Welcome to the prettiest stationery haul you ever did see.

A few months ago I stumbled across a company called Typo. I found them before they were open here in the UK and loved what I saw, so I signed up for email updates. I kind of forgot about them until an email caught my eye the other day advertising 4 for £8 notebooks. As it is that time of year where I really need to think about going back to university, I thought I would have a look.

I absolutely loved it. I found way more than 4 that I loved and there was so much on the website that I knew I had to place an order. So first of all, these were the notebooks I chose that were on the 4 for £8 offer.

I chose this one that has some very instagram- esque polaroid pictures on the front. I loved the colours and the themes. I love this one though because of the actual pages of the notebook. As well as being lined, it is hole punched and has the little bit of paper you can tear off of the edge to make it neat when you put it in a folder, which is perfect for how I organise my notes. I also really love that it has a little slot for the date. It makes all my organisation dreams come true.

The second one I chose is exactly the same on the inside. It has the ruled paper, the nice, neat edge and the date section. Both also have a margin which is another win where I'm concerned. I loved the cover of this one. It is a kind of tie- dye, watercolour effect with gold splodges all over. I love how colourful it is.

The next one I purchased is pretty similar to the first one. It has the same instagram feel to it and is very summery. However this one is less exciting on the inside and is just a regular lined notebook. However this one does feature a pocket on the front page which will be useful for storing loose bits of paper.

The final one I got id not actually for me but is for my best friend who took a gap year last year and is starting her first year of university this year. Unlike the others, this one is A5 (all the others are A4) so it is perfect for her to just throw in her bag. It has just standard lined paper with a margin and again has a small pocket for loose paper. I bought it for the quote on the front which says 'running late is my cardio' because my friend is always late. Honestly she is late for absolutely everything. I thought this was just perfect for her.

So there you have it, the prettiest notebooks for less. Now this was not everthing I bought from Typo but this post is getting long so everything else will be in tomorrows blog post.

Rosie Bea Spotlight False Nails Review (Day 162)

Now I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit of a fake nail novice.

I've not really done fake nails before so I needed something easy. I picked these Rosie Bea nails up in Superdrug a while ago but I've only just got around to giving them a go. Now I had never heard of Rosie Bea before now and I was drawn to the nails because of their design.

The colours of the nails are beautiful and I love that not all the nails look the same so you can create such a detailed look. I also love the rose gold, almost foil like decoration on the nails. These nails were amazing. Application was simple, just pop the glue on the nail and press the nail on. Now the nails were originally stiletto shaped but I just couldn't get on with their length so I filed them so they were more of a standard nail shape. They stayed on well with a couple falling off but easily being stuck back on with glue.

I honestly love these nails and I will definitely be buying them again.

I'm Sorry (Day 161)

At the start of the year when I set the challenge of writing a blog post a day, I knew it would be a challenge. I knew I would struggle. However I did not anticipate how much life would get in the way and how hard it would be to keep up.

Life has just got busy and this blog has had to take a back seat and for that I am so sorry. Just know I'm back and determined to catch up!

Just know I'm trying and I'm back!

My Summer Staple (Day 160)

'Give a girl the right pairs of shoes and she can conquer the world'.

I live and die in boots! I absolutely love wearing boots as I feel like I can wear them with everything. However it's hot here in Britain and there is no way I would ever survive in boots. Although I've been wearing sandals alot, I've decided to give my pumps a go.

I got these loafer type shoes a while ago from a shop called Select and I'm absolutely loving them. They are a kind of faux suede with tassels on the front. I love the style as they are easy to pair with anything. I've been wearing them everyday with jeans as well as dresses and skirts. I find they look really cute and go with everything.

I'm really loving them!
